1776: Film Screening and Q&A Session

“1776” This 1972 film is a renowned musical drama adapting the Broadway play, depicting the political struggle within the Continental Congress to sign the Declaration of Independence. It is celebrated for its blend of historical drama, witty dialogue, and musical numbers that humanize the Founding Fathers, including John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson.
Seth Cotlar will facilitate a Q & A Session following the film’s showing. Professor Cotlar specializes in the history of the United States in the years between the American Revolution and the Civil War.
