Experience Salem’s world-class wine region, outdoor gems and agricultural bounty
Visitors enjoy two new tours offered by Gray Line Oregon, in partnership with Travel Salem, Amtrak Cascades and the Oregon Department of Transportation. Hop aboard one of Grayline’s park coaches – comfortable buses fashioned after the “white jammers” that operated in national parks in the 1930s – and head out for an unforgettable experience in the Salem area!
Wineries of Oregon’s Willamette Valley Tour
The “Wineries of Oregon’s Willamette Valley Tour” tour begins with a stop at Cubanisimo Vineyards, Salem’s award-winning, Cuban-inspired winery and vineyards. Next, it’s off to Left Coast Cellars – a 300-acre vineyard featuring entirely estate-grown wines. The final stop is Willamette Valley Vineyards, recently named Best Vineyard/Tasting Room Experience in the West by Sunset Magazine. This narrated tour lasts approximately five hours and includes a no-host lunch stop at Willamette Valley Vineyards. Tours will run September 24 and October 8.
Silver Falls & The Oregon Garden Tour
The “Silver Falls & The Oregon Garden Tour” begins with a visit to E.Z. Orchards Farm Market, famous for their freshly baked donuts, produce and farm store. The next stop is The Oregon Garden, which features 80 acres of plantings and 20 specialty gardens. From The Oregon Garden, you’ll enjoy a drive through historic Silverton and a stop at Silver Falls State Park – considered the crown jewel of the Oregon State Parks system with its 10 cascading waterfalls. This approximately five-hour tour includes a no-host lunch stop at historic Silver Falls Lodge and is offered September 25 and October 9.
Both tours operate in conjunction with Amtrak Cascades rail service. Visitors from outside Salem can begin their tour with a relaxing train ride to Salem from stations in Washington, Oregon and California. Tour pickup points include the Salem Amtrak station, Travel Salem’s Visitor Center and the Grand Hotel in Salem.
