Activities and events for February in the Mid-Willamette Valley

February is a time for family, friends and a whole lot of love! Check out these events happening during this heart-warming month in the Mid-Willamette Valley!

1. Al’s Kids Club: Macrame Plant Hangers

February 1 at Al’s Garden & Home
Children will have the opportunity to create and take home their very own macramé plant hanger at Al’s Garden Center, in Woodburn, Oregon, on Feb. 1. Tickets and registration are required.  
February 1-29 at the Stayton Public Library
The third annual Stayton Public Library Art Show is Feb. 1-29 at the Stayton Public Library in Stayton, Oregon. The art can be enjoyed during normal library hours. Admission is free. 
3. Bingo
February 3 at B2 Taphouse & Brewery
Play a game of family-friendly Bingo Feb. 3 at B2 Taphouse & Brewery, in Salem. Admission is free.
February 3-15 at the Oregon State Capitol
The original Oregon State Constitution is available for viewing Feb. 3-15 in the Capitol Galleria of the Oregon State Capitol, in Salem. The exhibit is free.
February 5 at the Elsinore Gallery
There is an art exhibit, which features works inspired by the book “Piecing Me Together” by Renée Watson, on display at the Elsinore Gallery, in Salem, Feb. 5-26. Admission is free.
February 6 at Cubanisimo Vineyards
Cubanisimo Vineyards hosts the second event of a free sign language series at their tasting room in Salem on Feb. 6. This class is for adults over 21. Registration is required.
February 7 at Smith Auditorium
The Oregon Symphony in Salem presents Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition Feb. 7 at Willamette University’s Smith Auditorium. This adaptation of the beloved symphonic work will be conducted by Carlos Kalmar. Tickets are required.
February 8 at Salem’s Riverfront Carousel
Visit Salem’s Riverfront Carousel on Feb. 8 for a night of Valentine’s Day fun for the whole family. There will be unlimited carousel rides, crafts, cookie decorating, face painting and a photo booth. Space is limited, so it is recommended to purchase your tickets in advance.
Through February 23rd at Bush Barn Art Center
Visit Bush Barn Art Center, in Salem, through Feb. 23 to view the ArcheoSpaces exhibit. The survey of oil paintings, created by artist John Oberdorf, play with our perception of reality. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday and admission is free.
February 9 at Willamette University’s Hudson Concert Hall
Willamette’s chamber orchestra takes the stage on Feb. 9 at the Hudson Concert Hall, on Willamette University’s campus, in Salem. Come and listen to the world premiere of a piece titled “Birds in this Woman” along with other classical works. Tickets are required.
February 12 at the Valkyrie Wine Tavern
Have a drink and learn about the Steelhead Trout, an iconic native fish of Oregon, Feb. 12 at the Valkyrie Wine Tavern, in Independence, Oregon. This event is for adults over 21 and there is a $5 suggested donation.
February 13 at Sparky’s Brewing Company
Get the girls together and head to Sparky’s Brewing Company, in Salem, on Feb. 13 for a special Galentine’s outing in celebrate of friendship. Admission is free. 
13. Valentine’s Day Wine Pairings Dinners
February 12-15 at various wineries
For a romantic Valentine’s celebration, check out the various wine pairing dinners around the Mid-Willamette Valley: Willamette Valley Vineyards, in Turner, Oregon, Feb. 12-13, Brooks Winery, in Amity, on Feb. 14, and Illahe Vineyards, in Dallas, Oregon, on Feb. 
February 14-15 at the Salem Armory
This annual boxing tournament will be a test of strength, endurance and talent among some of the best boxing athletes in Oregon. The event is Feb. 14-15 at the Salem Armory Auditorium. Tickets are required.
February 15 at the Yard Food Park
See local Classic Rock band, the 8balls, in concert at the Yard Food Park, in Salem, on Feb. 15. Come out for dinner and a drink and stay for a great show. Admission is free.
February 15 at Chateau Bianca Winery
Join Chateau Bianca Winery, in Dallas, Oregon, for a murder mystery event on Feb. 15. Tickets are required and include the interactive show, a bottle of wine, hors d’oeuvres and locally made truffles. This event is for adults over 21.
February 15 at the Oregon State Capitol
Celebrate the 161st anniversary of Statehood Day at the Oregon State Capitol, in Salem, on Feb. 15. Learn the story of our great state while enjoying costumed interpreters, music and family-friendly activities. The event is free to attend.
February 15 at Angel’s Share Barrel House in Turner
The Big North Duo, who is known for their renditions of swing, blues and country, will be giving a concert at the Angel’s Share Barrel House, in Turner, on Feb. 15. Kids are welcome to attend this free event. 
February 17 at the Gilbert House Children’s Museum
Enjoy free admission to the Gilbert House Children’s Museum, in Salem, on Feb. 17. Legacy of Play Day honors A.C. Gilbert’s spirit of tinkering, engagement and discovery.
February 21-23 at Mt. Angel Festhalle
Formerly known as Wurstfest, Mt. Angel Volksfest is Feb. 21-23. Celebrate German heritage with music, games, demonstrations and sausage inside Mt. Angel’s Festhalle. Tickets are required for adults over 21, but the event is family-friendly.  
February 21-March 15 at Enlightened Theatrics
Follow along with Casey and Aaron, who appear to have absolutely nothing in common, on a first date they are sure to remember. The show starts Feb. 21 and runs through March at Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre, in Salem. Tickets are required. 
February 22 at Silver Falls State Park
Come dressed in your best western-themed clothes, bring your canine running partner and run a nearly seven-mile loop that offers amazing views and lots of mud on Feb. 22 at Silver Falls State Park in Silverton, Oregon. After the race, there will be chili, coffee and beer around a campfire. All ages are welcome, registration is required.
February 22 at the Salem Convention Center
The Salem Art Association’s annual Clay Ball is Feb. 22 at the Salem Convention Center. Enjoy a 1920’s-themed celebration with hors d’oeuvres and complimentary beer and wine while you explore the silent auction. Afterwards, you will be seated for a three-course gourmet dinner, followed by a live auction and dancing. Tickets are required.
February 22 at Zenith Vineyards
Enjoy delicious wine from 15 Willamette Valley wineries, a dinner and an auction to benefit restoring commercial air service to Salem. The event is Feb. 22 at Zenith Vineyards, in Salem. Tickets are required. 
February 22 & 23 at Willamette University
“Messiah”, one of Handel’s most beloved works, will be performed by the Willamette Master Chorus, featuring an orchestra and soloists. The concert will take place Feb. 22 & 23 at Willamette University, in Salem. 
February 22-23 at Quality Suites in Keizer
This two-day convention is full of anime and pop culture content. There will be gaming, cosplay, contests, panels, artists and more. The event is Feb. 22 & 23 at Quality Suites in Keizer, Oregon. Tickets are required and all ages are welcome. 
February 22-23 at Chemeketa Community College
The Salem Philharmonia Orchestra will give a concert, showcasing the works of Copland and Beethoven, Feb. 22 & 23 at Chemeketa Community College, in Salem. Tickets are required.
February 27-29 at the Elsinore Theatre
Back by popular demand, the rebellious princesses of Disenchanted! are returning with their not-for-the-kiddies musical to the Elsinore Theatre, in Salem, Feb. 27-29.
February 29 at Musical Independence
Musical Independence, the community music center based in Independence, Oregon, is having their official Grand Opening and 1-year anniversary on Feb. 29. Join the music center in celebrating their work in music education and the arts. Admission is free. 
February 29 at Silver Falls State Park
Expand your knowledge and curiosity about owls at this fun, hands-on event at Silver Falls Conference Center on Feb. 29. Learn about owls through an indoor presentation, dissect owl pellets and walk through the woods to call for owls. This event is recommended for ages five years and older, admission is free.
