Kick off the start of summer wine tasting season near Salem, Oregon
Memorial Day weekend in wine country is one of the Willamette Valley’s longest standing traditions. Wineries will open for a weekend full of special events, wine tasting and fun.
1. Airlie Winery
Airlie Winery, in Monmouth, Oregon, will have 19 different wines to taste, including new releases and old favorites, May 26-28. For $15, you’ll receive six tastes and a wine glass. There will also be live entertainment, food for sale and case discounts.
2. Arcane Cellars
Bring your tent or RV to camp in the vineyard at Arcane Cellars, in Salem, over Memorial Day weekend. The winery will host The Ted Vaughn Blues Band on the banks of the Willamette River on May 27. Additionally, there will be a food truck, bocce ball and horseshoes. There is a $5 cover fee for the concert. If you’re interested in camping, contact the winery.
3. Calamity Hill Vineyard and Farm
Memorial Day weekend is one of three times throughout the year that Calamity Hill Vineyard, in Amity, Oregon, opens to the public. The vineyard will be open May 26-28 for visitors to enjoy the winery’s estate wines, olive oil, gardens and views. Admission is $10.
4. Chateau Bianca Winery
Chateau Bianca Winery, in Dallas, Oregon, will open its patio for a Memorial Day weekend barbeque May 26-28. For $20, you’ll receive a plate of barbeque and a glass of wine.
5. Cubanisimo Vineyards
Experience a Cuban-style weekend at Cubanisimo Vineyards in Salem. The entire family, including well-behaved, leashed dogs, is invited to join in on the fun May 26-28. There will be live Cuban dance music, food and, of course, wine. Ticket prices vary.

6. Keeler Estate
Keeler Estate, in Amity, is having a garden party in its open-air tasting room May 25-27. Taste the winery’s biodynamic wines and then explore the vineyard, ponds and natural areas. Picnics, dogs and children are welcome!
7. Left Coast Estate
Sip and stroll all weekend long at Left Coast Estate in Rickreall, Oregon. The winery will host live music May 26-28. The tasting room will be serve wood-fired pizzas and wine to enjoy on the lawn or patio. The $15 admission fee will include wine tasting, a paired snack and a souvenir wine glass.
8. Redhawk Winery
Redhawk Winery, in Salem, will be serving up barbeque, delicious wines and live entertainment May 26-28. You may even get a chance to barrel taste a future release and meet the winemaker! There will be a $12 tasting fee.
9. Trinity Vineyards
Enjoy live music, wine tasting and light bites May 26-27 at Trinity Vineyards in Salem. There will also be great deals on select wines. Tickets are $10.
10. Willamette Valley Vineyards
Spend a day tasting wine and listening to live music May 26-28 at Willamette Valley Vineyards in Turner, Oregon. Tickets are $20 and include a tasting flight and an optional prescheduled, seated tasting. On May 28, there will be an informative wine tasting seminar led by one of Oregon’s leading geologists.
