Visitor Center Coordinator
JOB TITLE: Visitor Center Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: MarCom
FLSA: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Marketing Officer
Visitor Center: Responsible for coordination and oversight of the Travel Salem Visitor Center and Visitor Information Network (VIN). Provides impeccable hospitality to Salem visitors and residents while taking an active role in improving and extending the visitor’s stay in Salem.
Visitor Center & Visitor Information Network (VIN)
1. Serve as the primary host to visitors/guests in the Visitor Center.
2. Ensure that brochure racks are stocked.
3. Responsible for all Visitor Center technology (e.g., display screens, theater room, videos, music, security cameras).
4. Record, research and fulfill all visitor & relocation requests for information (e.g., phone/mail/email/social media inquiries).
5. Manage & train part-time/on-call Visitor Center staff and volunteers.
6. Maintain the Visitor Center calendar to ensure there is adequate staffing during business hours.
7. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all brochures including those produced by Travel Salem.
8. Ensure the Visitor Center and all surrounding grounds & parking area are clean and orderly each day (e.g., pick up debris, wipe door handles, clean windows, disinfect surfaces).
9. Coordinate the Visitor Center exhibit space.
10. Maintain Travel Salem’s online events calendar (enter events, approve submissions, etc.).
11. Assist with Oregon Tourism Information System (OTIS) updates and other data entry.
12. Track & record all VIN statistics for monthly & quarterly reports.
13. Help prepare other monthly reports as needed.
Miscellaneous
1. Work on other projects as assigned.
2. Occasional after/before hours & weekends.
3. Responsible for clerical needs.
4. Vehicle required and valid unencumbered Oregon Driver’s License.
5. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
6. Participate in Travel Salem activities.
