Jo Hamilton Exhibit
November 5 to December 21
Reception 11/7/2025 at 5:30 pm.
Jo first started out as a painter, but has used only crochet and yarn to create her large-scale works for the last twenty years. Crochet (the French word for hook) is a deceptively simple act of tying three-way knots using a small metal hook, that Jo was first taught by her Gran when she was growing up in Scotland.
My work comprises a number of ongoing series depicting soft but muscular reclining male nudes, masked women portrayed as superheroes hiding in plain sight, venerable local and historical matriarchs. and cityscapes concerning the current breakneck pace of modern human manufacturing.
