In a 4-hour session, students will learn the history of glass and glass bead making.

Glass lampworking terminology, best practices and safety, and the basics of soft glass bead making; including the use of a "hot head" torch, steel mandrels, and glass bead decorative techniques! Off-mandrel glass sculpting techniques, as well as tips on setting up a home studio space.

At the end of the class, students will be able to take home any left-over fuel canisters, some glass stringers and rods, and some mandrels, so they may continue learning on their own if they desire.
