Travel Salem’s PR is reaching new heights!

During the first four months of fiscal year 2011-12 Travel Salem’s PR efforts have secured $1.2 million in earned media coverage (a.k.a. media leverage), already exceeding the earned media secured over FY 2010-11. In FY 2010-11 Travel Salem’s earned media was up 63 percent over FY 2009-10. Some of the successful media pitches that Travel Salem secured included coverage of the Salem region in the travel section of The NY Times; a prime-time broadcast on the Food Network (Outrageous Food); Oregon broadcast on Grant’s Getaways; in Woman’s World, NW Palate, 1895 magazine, SunsetThe Seattle Times, and The Bulletin (Bend) among many others.

Travel Salem hosted press trips for foreign and domestic writers, including as far away as Korea and pitched hundred of story ideas to both travel and industry publications.
