Salem to Host 2009 Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism
Tourism industry professionals from throughout Oregon will convene in Salem April 19-21, 2009 for the 25th Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The Salem Conference Center will be the location for this 3 day statewide educational conference that gathers marketing, development, service, and industry suppliers. The conference is the annual forum for the Oregon Tourism Commission to communicate industry trends, research and provide educational and networking opportunities for the industry. It is also the venue for the Oregon Tourism Commission to honor organizations with the
Governor’s Tourism Awards which recognize the “best of the best” in Oregon.
"We're so honored and excited that the 25th Anniversary of the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism will be held in Salem! It is great timing with the Oregon 150th celebration occurring in 2009 and the 25th anniversary of the Salem Convention and Visitors Association (SCVA). This conference is first and foremost about education but it is also a celebration of the visitor industry and the significant economic impact it generates for Oregon,” said Debbie McCune, SCVA’s Director of Sales.
