Member Spotlight June 2004: A-Cab

A-Cab is a locally owned business that got its start on August 22, 2000. It all began with one car, a cell phone, and a 24-hour a day commitment. While the past four years have not been easy sledding for small businesses in Oregon, A-Cab must be doing a lot of things right. Today A-Cab employs over 40 people and their fleet is growing by the day.

A Cab is on the leading edge of how transportation companies do business. Everyone knows you can call a cab when you need a ride, but A Cab offers services well beyond the ordinary. You can call on A Cab for jump-starts, food delivery, and prescription pick-ups. They can even get you to PDX. A Cab is even willing to give you an estimate of what you can expect to pay to use their service.

A Cab has their own “frequent rider” program that enables customers to earn free trips. If you take a cab to work, school, or church on a regular basis, after ten trips the next trip is free. With everyday low rates, great service, and courteous, helpful staff, A Cab is clearly a great choice when you need transportation.

A Cab also innovates in the way they communicate. They can be reached by phone, by Fax, and by e-mail. They have a great web site that tells you all about their company and their services, and introduces you to everyone on their staff. You can even get your very own t-shirt with a flaming green A-Cab logo. These people just love what they do.

A-Cab Taxi is not only building a strong business, but they are also committed to being a good neighbor. A Cab actively supports numerous local charities including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Red Cross, the Chemeketa Chapter of DeMolay, E.S.C.A.P.E. Child Abuse Prevention, the Lion's Foundation for Sight, the Shriners Children's Hospital, Pack #122 Cub Scouts B.S.A., t he Salvation Army, Marion/Polk County Food Share, and the AC Gilbert House.
