Willamette assistant art professor, Andries Fourie. Exhibition will feature a range of work from the past few years. He uses his art to address the horrors of war and the tragedy of apartheid. Through May 18 Piranesi: Views of Rome
Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-78) was an Italian etcher and archaeologist who, from 1748 to 1774, created his famous Views of Rome, a series of prints that depicted the eternal city's majestic ruins and served for generations as the standard representations of Roman grandeur. $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and students, free for children under 12, free for all on Tuesdays. The Willamette Master Chorus will travel to Mount Angel Abbey to perform special "Music for an Abbey". For these concerts the Master Chorus will present three different compositions based on the Marian text "Magnificat" (My Soul Magnifies the Lord). The Willamette Master Chorus will travel to Mount Angel Abbey to perform special "Music for an Abbey". For these concerts the Master Chorus will present three different compositions based on the Marian text "Magnificat" (My Soul Magnifies the Lord). The first from the Monteverdi "Vespers" in Latin, the second is a cantata by Georg Philip Telemann in German, and the third setting in English is by composer, Charles Stanford with organ.
