New Hours for Travel Salem’s Travel Café Visitors Center

Beginning July 1 Travel Salem’s Travel Café Visitors Center will have new hours; Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday. These changes are a result of program realignment due to budget restrictions. Travel Salem will continue to maintain program continuity and delivery in a manner that is consistent with visitor expectations.

Salem Selected for 2013 BMW MOA Rally

Motorcycle event attracts 9,000 riders

The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (MOA) has selected the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, Oregon as the location for their 2013 International Rally. The event will be taking place July 18-20, 2013. “We’ve had some really great events in Oregon in the past years,” explains BMW MOA president Greg Feeler. “Our Rally in Redmond in 2010 was one of our best ever. We are very excited about Salem next year!”

New Oregon Wine Country License Plate Now Available

Oregon’s Wine Country license plate is now available through the DMV. This wine country specialty license plate is the first of its kind in the nation. Plates are available from the DMV for an ongoing $30 surcharge due at issuance and every two-year renewal.

Wine Country plate proceeds will be directed to the Oregon Tourism Commission to support the promotion of Oregon as a travel & tourism destination, and will be distributed as follows:

Visitor Intercept Survey

Travel Salem recently launched a Visitor Intercept Survey that asks visitors a few brief questions about their visit. The findings from the survey will ultimately help guide Travel Salem’s future strategies and assist with return on investment reporting.
